Thanks soo much Asha! Would you mind telling me what specifically to buy when it comes to the “footies”? I really appreciate your contribution!
You are great!
Well...to be honest he is a much advanced skater than you Asha. You may learn from him a lot:)
I'm dealing with low back pain after learning inline skate for 4 months. And I think this video just explains the reason. I'm so scared of letting the center of gravity fall on the back wheels which results in bending my waist and the back pain becomes incurable. I will try to bend my knees more and avoid leaning forward. Thank you for the tips!
Stop smoking cuz. Thats voice is deep af 😂
❤❤❤ Szuper!
Saying the mistake won’t help, saying the correct way it will.
I did both of those things in this video. I showed the mistake (the V-ingest down position) and then I show the correction (the straight ahead set down). I even give you access to 3 free drills that will help you fix the problem. I also explain why I think the problem emerges (because skaters are trying to copy high level speed skaters) but unfortunately failing. I obviously need to do more videos on this topic.
A great set of stairs to learn on 👍👍
Yes we couldn't resist them. We had finished a Street Skills class and were skating back when we came across them. I couldn't not spend 20 minutes there. When you find steps like this (or 2 or 3 even) it's worth using them. They help build convince so much.
Ooooh … they make it look so easy … question is heel brake foot infront or behind ? … or remove the brake
It depends on you speed actually. If youre going very slowly then this makes things much more unstable (even without a heel brake) as then you sort of roll off each step individually with each skate, whereas with a scissor and a little more speed your tend to land both skates at the same time. With that kind of speed Im showing in the video you can keep the heel brake on and have it on the front skate (which is your most comfortable scissor and therefore the safest one). Don't remove the heel brake until you have 2-3 reliable non-heel brake stopping methods that stop you from your highest speeds (regardless of what anyone else tries to tell you). Don't be bullied to remove it unless you have those other methods comfortably fluent. I also suggest learning the new methods with your heel brake on of course and only removing it when you haven;t actually touched it or used it for 2-3 months because you've successfully used the other methods. What tends to happen is people think they're ready (is this is the challenge) and then in critical oh m god situations they use the brake. This tells you you aren't ready to remove it because your body isn't; confident in the other methods. I hear about too mnay people removing their brake for whatever reason and then having stopping issues, falls, injuries. It's just not worth it.
Also don't straighten back as soon as you land on the final step, stay low until you fully stabilize It takes a lot of trust but the confidence boost is equally high when you manage this <3
Agree completely!
Super
Sinto mucho que te has lesionado. Vuelve con calma y domina todas las técnicas básicas sin prisa. Y flexiona bien las rodillas. Este es el segrego principal de no caerse para atrás. OK? Un abrazo.
I love your tights! I’ve been working on dribbling and pivot turns ❤
Gracias! Es exactamente lo que me pasa!
Asha Kirby mandated that I must improve to the level where I can use two-sided power stops. She combines them into a triple move because of such grace and fluidity. That is now my motivation to emulate "The One Called to Skate," and show us the way to simplify learning the same. 😍🙃😇🥰
Curice,to si mnogo, mnogo fino objasnila. Veliki pozdrav od Cicka Zemunca.
It is clear that Asha Kirkby's calling in this life is to skate; and also show all of us that we can do so with the same grace and fluidity. All we have to do is listen to her passionate lessons and emulate her example because she clearly simplifies the whole process. 🥰😍🤩😇
¡Muchas gracias Asha! Casi nadie habla de la postura. He estado viendo tus videos y realmente te has vuelto una inspiración para mí ❤
When you explain something we want to try it straight away, even if it's raining!!!

What a lovely voice 😊😊😊
The real challenge of that one is when your torso is turned to the right is harder to crossover to the left. It seems like Asha is not fully turning her torso as some of us do, so I'll keep that in mind.
I started 42 yo, last year. I was alone, no one teach me arround, i decided to learn myself. It's neccessary one thing, passion.
Maybe i will nelled it
I am a begginer and actually have no that much pronation, but on my left foot I always get some supination while using the K2 Kinetic 80 I got. I feel like I "fall" a little bit to the left when trying to practice this exercise. I put some padding material on the top/inside (right) part of my left boot to test and it helped a little bit. My left leg is a little bit thinner BTW, like 0.8cm less in diameter as the right. I do not know if it is a problem with my lack of technic or a problem that needs to be fixed with a pair of (more expensive) inline skates that allow frame adjustment 😔
Most edging issues like pronation or supination (in your case) should first be worked on by using the knee bend direction. Knees should be bent forwards (till knee cap covers the toes) and then the knee direction can go inwards in your case towards the big toe until the outside edge of the front wheel (as you look down at it) changes from the outside to the centre (middle) of the wheel. It will feel to you as if you are a bit "knock-kneed" as it wont be familiar angling your knees inwards in this way but it will fix your supination. You can then do these scooting exercises with your support skate (the non-pushing leg) being on a centre edge and not an outside edge. This kind of training will fix your supination without you having to buy new skates. It's not the equipment that creates the issues, it's almost always our bodies which are not equal left and right and which have unique tendencies which come out on inline skates. I hope this helps. Let us know how you go.
@@SkatefreshVideos wow thanks a lot for this detailed response! As someone in his early 40s just starting to skating I try to be as safe as possible since things do not heel like when I was 20. I already tried some of your trial courses, I just need to convince my wife that I NEED to buy them 😬. Regards from Germany!
Fabulous! So inspirational!
Thanks so much!
Parabéns e obrigado pelas explicação, vão me ajudar muito no meu desenvolvimento... 😃👏👏👏
Que bom que te ajudou. Aproveite de seus patins sem dores e com os pés relaxados. Um abrazo
Thank you for sharing
90mm wheels are the perfect size for everyday basic outdoor skating and traveling up to medium distances.
I agree! I'm loving being on 4x90s

Woohoo Hugh ❤️

Thanks for this tutorial... :))
You're welcome 😊
@@SkatefreshVideos ❤️
Omg this might've just solved all my issues I've been having. I've been skating exactly how she showed in the incorrect position lol. I could totally feel the difference in the 2 positions when I just tried them on just my feet. Can't wait to try this on my skates later! Thank you!
You aren't alone and almost all new skaters lean forwards (because they don't want to fall backwards), but it creates a whole host of other problems. Please let us know how you felt on your skates. You'll need to use your core muscles to stay upright when rolling, but hey, there's the exercise of skating! Enjoy.
@@SkatefreshVideos it definitely felt weird/different, that’s for sure! It took a lot of mental focus to make sure I stayed in the right position. But yea, my abs are sore from skating this weekend! 😂
When did you lose your virginity
Im not used to rockered set up
The bounce flip seems so much easier I will try it!!!
For many people it is because the bounce stops you from hesitating or going in slow-motion which doesn't work. However, it is not the best option when going much faster, xo later on you may need to develop one of the other methods when you have much higher speeds.
